Diabetic Diet & Blood Gluecose

Providing You with the Best Diabetic Info Around

Do you need a prescription for a blood glucose meter ?

Like if you go to a drug/phramacy you know like cvs or walmart

only if you want your insurance to reimburse you for it. Otherwise, you can just purchase it yourself.

no, you can go in and buy one without one, but try and get a prescription for one from your doctor, sometimes your insurance will cover or pay some of it, but you need a prescription for the pharmacy to bill it to your insurance.

No you should not have to get a Rx. (prescription).
But if you have diabetes, why not go to your diabetes specialist doctor or nurse , they usually have meters to give away free as the reps of the meter companies give them ‘samples’ so they can promote their products (and get you to buy the strips from them which will earn them their money).
Try it, if you don’t ask, you won’t know!
    Good luck.

No you do not need a prescription. Most companies will send you one if you call them. Some pharmacies also have free ones to give away also.
