Is 106 on a blood glucose meter good for a non diabetic? I need more responses?

Please respond, don’t ignore this question

I would need to know if you have eaten anything OR if this is a fasting result. Either way, its not really bad at all. Normal range for fasting is between 70- 100 for a non diabetic. 2 hours after a meal it should be about the same, but can be a little more elevated up to about 15 or 120.

If you are not a diabetic why are you testing on a meter, especially since you don’t understand the results?

As the other answerer said, it’s fine.

  4. Sarah Said,

perfectly fine. Even if this is a "fasting" reading, its not much to worry about. The home glucometers are never 100% accurate and can be from a few to several points off, meaning 106 isn’t an exact number and may actually be 100 or 110. The best way to learn your fasting glucose is done by the Dr who measures the plasma and is more accurate. But 106 for a non diabetic is FINE. Don’t stress.

106 is very good if you are a diabetic like I am. If you want a true reading when you get up in the morning test your sugar count. I am getting these number from my glucose level chart ok

    20 thur 40 very low dial 911

50 thur 70 low glucose take med and eat something

80 thur 90 getting low time to eat

    100 thur 130 doing great

140 thur 150 getting high eat usual meal with large portion of leafy vegetables

160 thur 190 high level eat usual meal, large portion of leafy vegetable then go for a walk to help lower glucose level

200 thur 500 very high drink 1/2 cup water every hour for 4 hour then recheck glucose level call doctor if level don’t go down

any thing past 500 you are getting ready to stroke out meaning you will die get to the hospital fast

Like I said this is for someone who is a diabetic I have no idea what someone level should be who is not a diabetic.

Being a diabetic you have to nibble on something all day and check your level at least 4 time a day. You have to be very careful about lousing your temple and stress it will run your level up.
